A number of organisations and vocational training entities are challenged when they develop a training programme and want to have it recognised in other EU countries. The Live Skills project includes a practical guide that explains the major aspects to consider when developing a learning programme (curricula). The guide is based on the so-called ‘learning outcomes’ approach, which constitutes a common, reliable and objective basis for the articulation, assessment and certification of knowledge, skills and competences of the learning process.

The guide formulates principles for the design and development of learning outcomes, with a focus on the potential of these outcomes, their use in the training programmes and how to articulate them effectively.

Practical examples of applying the learning outcomes approach are included; explaining key terms and outlining the aspects to consider when shaping the learning outcomes of a training programme.

The guide ensures that the learning programme focuses on the development of certifiable skills, designed in line with European tools & framework (ECVET, EQAVET, EQF,) that set the framework for quality assurance and recognition of learning programmes across the EU.

This is a vital resource for any stakeholder working in vocational training in Europe (and in the Creative and Cultural sectors), supporting practitioners and VET providers who are looking to develop VET curricula at EU level.
